I am always using Bisquick for something at my house whether it be pot pies, biscuits, pancakes, waffles, scones, etc. Although Bisquick is not particularly an expensive grocery item, when I found out I could be saving money by making my own I could not resist.
You'll need:
4 cups flour
3/4 cup powdered milk
2 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter
Combine the first four ingredients in a large bowl. Cut in the butter with two forks, or a pastry blender. When the butter is sufficiently combined, the mixture will resemble coarse crumbs. Use this biscuit mix just like you would use store-bought Bisquick. Store in the refrigerator or freezer.
