Savings Update

Thomas and I have just made a huge decision concerning our wedding plans and our future home. This decision now makes saving as much money as possible even more of a priority.

After not being able to find an outdoor reception venue that allows us to use our own catering, our own alcohol, and a tent with access to indoor plumbing and electricity (yes, I know, a tall order), we have decided to attempt to purchase a home that can double as our reception venue!

We were already hoping to buy a fixer upper in the country on a large piece of land anyway so we figured this would be the perfect setting for our reception. In addition, we would get to show off our new home to our family and closest friends, have access to electricity for the catering and DJ, have access to indoor plumbing for our guests, and be able to call the shots when it comes to what food we serve as well as the beverages. However, this now means that we must find this dream home, purchase it, and renovate at least what guests would see on the main floor, kitchen, bathroom, and landscaping.

This plan shaves about 6 months work of savings time off of our original plan!! YIKES! If you have any money saving home design, first-time home buyer, or wedding ideas for us, please comment below!!!
